Dartmouth United places a total of seven players on our Canada Games Teams

Throughout our history, Dartmouth United Soccer Club has helped develop some of the most talented soccer players in our province, if not in the entire country.  This summer, the club is pleased to announce that seven of our players will be representing Nova Scotia and Dartmouth United at the 2009 Canada Games in PEI.

The Canada Games is a high-level amateur sporting event held every two years, alternating between the Winter Games and Summer Games, where the Canadian provinces and territories compete in multiple sports for the national title. The Canada Games was first held in 1967, and is now Canada’s largest competition for young athletes.

Dartmouth United is very proud of the five girls and two boys who have been chosen for their respective provincial Canada Games squads. We wish them the best of luck as they step up to this excellent opportunity and look forward to a return later this year to their regular teams just in time for our annual provincial competition.

See below for profiles on each of Dartmouth United’s Canada Games players for 2009.  These profiles were developed by Julia Kent, a 4th year Journalism student at Carleton University who played all her soccer with Dartmouth United until relocating to Ottawa.
